In the latest season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the drama between castmates took a wild turn, especially when Demi Engemann issued an ultimatum that sent shockwaves through the group.

During the season finale, viewers watched as Demi made a bold move at a meeting about MomTok’s future, attempting to cut Taylor Frankie Paul—who created the group—out of the picture. When no one sided with her in the showdown, Demi declared she was taking a break from MomTok.

Now, Whitney Leavitt and Miranda McWhorter are speaking out about their relationship with Demi and how things are standing after the intense fallout. Whitney, who appears to be the only cast mate filming content with Demi, opened up to The Standard: “I think that, I mean, obviously we can all be cordial with each other, but I think just as time goes on, you know, the public will see more of what unravels.”

It’s clear that, while they might be able to coexist, there’s much more brewing under the surface since they finished filming.

Miranda, on the other hand, had a more reflective take on Demi’s explosive moment at the MomTok meeting. When asked if Demi had been trying to vote Taylor off the show or just from the group, she offered a thoughtful response: “It’s kind of hard to have one without the other.

“And like, again, it kind of creates conflict of interest. When somebody leaves, it's like, yes, you obviously could still have that friendship. However, this is such a big part of our lives that it's very difficult to have to keep that from a friend, because we also have, you know, the business aspect of it, where we do have to keep things under wraps and, you know, agreements we've made and so forth. So it’s, it’s a hard line to toe.”

Reflecting on the moment, Whitney added: “I think in that moment, though, she meant just MomTok and not the show, yeah, okay. But, I mean, I think it's different now,” giving us a taste of how things are evolving in the group. “But I think in that moment, she was like, out of the group, because she would have been able to have a say.”

Another surprising twist this season came from Zac, Jen Affleck’s husband, who transformed from a season one villain to the voice of reason amid his wife’s mental health challenges. Observing the toxic dynamics within MomTok, Zac called out the “backstabbing” behavior, highlighting that no one in the group could truly trust each other—a statement that struck a chord with fans.

When asked if it was a fair assessment, Whitney admitted: “Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. I think, just like you know, piggybacking off of the fact that this is our first time doing this, we're navigating this world, and I think whether we like it or not, no one wants to be the bad guy.

“No one wants to be the antagonist, and in turn, unfortunately, creates rift in relationships.”

As the season ends with a cliffhanger that leaves Demi questioning her future in MomTok—and a bombshell about castmate Jessi Ngatikaura’s alleged affair with Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette—the big question remains: can MomTok survive?

Whitney laughed but offered a glimmer of hope: “I see a light. It is far away, but I can see it in the distance.” With so much unresolved drama and shifting allegiances, MomTok’s future may be uncertain, but the journey is far from over.
